Program Improvement
Under No Child Left Behind, districts and schools are expected to make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) each year toward statewide proficiency goals in English language arts and mathematics for all students.

When districts or schools do not make adequate yearly progress for two consecutive years, they enter into program improvement status.
