Section 504 Plan

The U.S. Department of Education’s Section 504 prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. These federal protections extend to students at Lincoln Unified schools.

You may ead more about our nondiscrimination guidance in Board Policy 0410. In addition to protecting students with disabilities, we also prohibit any discrimination from students or staff on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and other protected categories. More information is available in Board Policy 5145.3.

A 504 plan is a legal document that outlines a plan of instructional services for students in the general education setting. While not an IEP, the document describes the types of accommodations that will be made for a student in school.
