Board of Trustees
Trustees serve four-year terms with a two-term limit effective November 2000.
Regular Meetings of the Board
Most regular meetings are called to order at 6:00 p.m. for roll call and the Board’s adjournment to closed session. Closed Session is a time for the Board to discuss confidential matters, including personnel issues, student matters (expulsions, nonpublic school placements), legal matters, and issues regarding contract negotiations. The Board resumes in Open Session at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted.
Special Meetings/Study Sessions
Special meetings or study sessions may be called as necessary. A special meeting of the Board may be called if it is necessary for a matter to be acted upon prior to the next regular meeting of the Board. A special study session may be called if extended time is needed for discussion on a specific issue. For example, if the Board needs to make decisions regarding specifications for a new school, the Board President may call a special study session to allow ample time for the single subject matter rather than consuming a large amount of time at a regular meeting of the Board. Special meetings or study sessions must be posted 24 hours in advance.
