LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL
 History

Each school year the Lincoln High School Web Design Class designs and maintains the LHS Web Site. You will find valuable information for students, staff, and community on the student designed Lincoln High School web site.

Lincoln High School held its first commencement exercises in 1954.  Since that time we have established a long and successful history of academic, athletic and performing arts programs.  We serve an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse population of 2600 students, as the sole comprehensive high school in the Lincoln Unified School District.  Lincoln High is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and was granted a six-year accreditation through the year 2009 with a three-year review in 2006.

Lincoln High completed its first major renovation to its facilities in 25 years in August 2003.  Science laboratories were enlarged and updated, as was the library media center. Renovations are currently underway to enlarge one of our two cafeterias, upgrade 10 classrooms, and create a new space for more efficient textbook storage.  Plans are in process to begin construction in 2006 of a new gymnasium and additional cafeteria space and to remodel our existing gymnasium.

Lincoln Unified School District and Lincoln High School have enjoyed strong community support for many years, leading to the passage of a Mello-Roos bond in 1990 and a General Obligation bond in 2004.  These two bonds have made the Lincoln High School campus renovations possible.  We are proud of our facilities and the programs they make possible.  We are proud of our students and the diversity they represent.  We are proud of our staff and the opportunities they provide for students.  Together, community, parents, students and staff have formed a school community and a school climate that is positive and productive.

Information Regarding Meningitis

Meningitis is an infection of the fluid in the spinal cord and the fluid that surrounds the brain. It is usually caused by bacteria or viruses, but it can also be caused by certain medications or illnesses.

There are two types of meningitis. Bacterial meningitis is rare, but it is serious and can be life-threatening if not treated right away.
