JOHN R. WILLIAMS
Operation: To Any Soldier
Students and staff are writing letters and collecting items to send to soldiers overseas, with Postal Plus taking care of the shipping costs.
If you would like to help we welcome magazines, personal hygiene products, sports items, and non-perishable food items. You can drop them off at the school office.
History
John R. Williams was established in 1957 as a K-6 school with 13 classrooms. In the 1980's and early 1990's class size was 32 students per classroom. Class-size reduction occurred in the 1996-97 school year. That dropped the class size for grades K-3 to 20 students per teacher. In 1992 the first 7th grade class was started at JRW making us a K-7 school. There were two classes of 25 students each, which moved up to be our first 8th grade, class to promote in the 1993-94 school year. JRW has been a K-8 school since that time.
