Lincoln High School Career Technology Center
In 2007, Lincoln Unified was awarded Career Technical Education Facilities funding from the California Department of Education to construct the Engineering and Construction Academy on Lincoln High’s campus. The mission of the Engineering and Construction Academy is: To Build a Workforce for California. Too often, English Language Learner, female, and other underserved student populations from the disconnected potential drop out to the highly motivated college-bound cannot find learning environments to nurture and inspire their career dreams. Full inclusion is at the heart of the Engineering and Construction Academy.
The new Academy will provide a comprehensive and sequences course of study that integrates rigorous academics with the mechanical, technical, and hands-on skills needed to prepare our students for pre-employment and continuing education in the building trades and construction careers. The new Academy will focus on three career paths for 9th-12th grade students with CTE courses that are articulated and sequenced with the local community college and the CSU system. |
