Contemporary Media Arts is a new art course at LHS designed to introduce students to the visual arts through the use of modern technology. The goal of this class is to further develop students’ abilities to create, describe, and talk about the visual world. The focus of this course will be an exploration of a variety of computer art experiences, including painting, manipulating digital information to create a new product, advertisement design, web design and animation and beginning film editing (stills, running footage and sound). During the year students will be introduced to contemporary design/art media including Photoshop, Illustrator, Imovie, Flash and Dreamweaver. Although this course is in its design phase, the goal is for it to be UC Recommended by the end of the 09 school year.
