AP Studio Art: Drawing and 2D Portfolios
All AP Studio Art students participate in the development of a comprehensive portfolio that meets the requirements for entry-level college drawing and 2D art classes. The major goal of the portfolio is for students' work to develop mastery in three major components: Quality, Concentration and Breadth. Students' work will demonstrate a strong knowledge of concept, composition, and execution of personal voice through constant production and reevaluation of work. Beyond the production of the portfolio students will also be expected to participate in critiques demonstrating acquisition of a formal artistic vocabulary, complete writing prompts that allow the student to demonstrate their artistic voice, solve aesthetic problems, and respond to readings and lectures that will help mold the students into well-rounded artists.
