GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

CLEAN CAMPUS: Green flag!!

CAP & GOWN: Attention Seniors: New Cap and Gown order forms are available in the Student Service Center from Mrs. Krenecki. Forms can be picked up at lunch or after school only.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK: The student of the week is intelligent, hard working, and humble. He is kind and inspirational to all who cross his path. He is involved in various extracurricular activities and goes above and beyond in everything he does. Congratulations Albert Liang!

STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH: The staff member of the month is always willing to help students with anything and everything. She is the founder of the new African-American girls' support group on campus, and is continuously making time for others. Congratulations Ms. Redic!

CASHEE TESTING: CAHSEE testing will be held on Tuesday, February 7th and Wednesday, February 8th for all 10th grade students. Juniors and seniors who have not passed one or both exams will be testing as well. The English portion of the exam will be on Tuesday and the Math will be on Wednesday. Room assignments for 10th graders will be posted on the window of the A-L side of the Student Service Center beginning Wednesday, February 1st. Classroom assignments for juniors and seniors will be available from Mrs. Krenecki in the Student Service Center beginning Wednesday, February 1st as well.

CASHEE SCHEDULES: CAHSEE schedules for the February 7th and February 8th testing are available on both sides of the Student Service Center. There will be minimum days on both testing days. 9th graders and juniors and seniors who have passed both sections of the CAHSEE will be released from school at 11:20. Lunch will be served on both days. Testing schedules are also available in the Link.

DISNEYLAND: Reminder—your next payment of $100 is due to USA Student Travel by February 3, which is today. Remember, you send the money directly to USA Student Travel and you MUST be eligible at the end of the 3rd quarter in order to attend and maintain eligibility during the 4th quarter.

CHAMBER CHOIR: Auditions for Chamber Choir and Sinfonia Voce will be this week during lunch in the choir room. Feel free to stop by the choir room this week for sign ups and details on the audition process.

YEARBOOK: Do you enjoy taking photos, attending events and writing stories? Want to join the Yearbook team next year? Yearbook is now accepting applications! Stop by Room 1112 at lunch to pick up your packet! The application submission deadline is February 3rd, so hurry!

NATIVE SPEAKERS OF SPANISH: If you are interested in taking Spanish 1 for Spanish Speakers next year, you need to come to room 2210 on Feb. 15 at 11:30 a.m. OR on Feb. 16 at 3:15 p.m. for a mandatory placement test. ¡Nos vemos!

AP CHEMISTRY: There is a mandatory meeting for all students interested in taking Advanced Placement Chemistry on Thursday, February 9th in Rm. 1111 at the beginning of lunch. We will discuss the course requirements and the summer homework. All students who are interested in taking AP Chemistry must attend this meeting.

COUNSELOR APPRECIATION: National School Counseling week, February 6-10, is to focus public attention on the unique contribution of professional school counselors within U.S. school systems. We are most fortunate in Lincoln Unified to have school counselors who work with passion and integrity to provide the support necessary for all students to achieve at the highest level.

WASHINGTON D.C. TRIP: Sophomores and Juniors, would you like to go on a 5 day trip to Washington, D.C. to witness the presidential inauguration? Lincoln High School is organizing a trip for January of 2013 – see your social science teacher for more details.

POLYNESIAN CLUB: They will be holding practice on Wednesdays at the dance room. Practice starts at 3:15pm, please be dressed for practice and on time. Also, the Carl’s Jr. fundraiser books or money are now due.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH ASSEMBLY PRACTICES: Do you like to sing, dance, act, step, or be apart of stage crew? Here's your chance! Every Monday from 2:10-3:10pm, we will be preparing for the Black History Month Assembly coming in February. Practices are held in the Gazebo, and all are welcome! Only you can make the assembly the best one yet! See you there.

VALENTINE GRAMS: Hey, I didn’t know angels flew so low. Buy your Valentine Grams on February 3 and the 6th to the 10th. Each Valentine Gram is $1, half dozen for $5, or a dozen for $10. You need to know the 4th period room number of the person you’re delivering to, and every 100th buyer gets a free stuffed animal. Get them now until they last.

DESI CLUB: They will be selling henna tattoos at lunch on 2/7 in front of the activities office. The price is $2.

FLORAL SHOP: Thinking about what to get your Valentine? The Trojan Floral Shop is taking preorders from January 30 – February 9 in room 1124 at lunch. Stop by to order flowers, balloons, and stuffed animals to be delivered to classrooms February 14th. Prices are posted on LHS Website.

ATTENTION SENIORS: It’s time to nominate that special Senior guy for Mr. Nice Guy. Who should you nominate for Mr. Nice Guy? A Senior guy that has been active in LHS clubs, athletics, and school activities, active in community, possess school spirit and pride and is a positive role model. Seniors can nominate a Senior guy by coming by Student Activities during lunch.

LEO’S CLUB: Please join us on Monday, February 6 at lunch for a Leo’s meeting in the Educational Planning Center. New members are always welcome!
