District Music Program

The Lincoln Music Services Department is an integral part of every student’s education.  Kindergarten through 2nd grade students receive general/classroom music two times a week for 20 minutes. Third grade through 6th grade students receive general/classroom music twice a week for 30 minutes. Starting in 4th grade students are offered chorus or strings, and in 5th grade students are offered band. Students may participate in band, strings or choir through the 8th grade. All curricula are aligned directly with the State standards.  There are approximately 1,500 students involved in the district's instrumental/choral program.

The Lincoln High School Music Department provides the next step in music education for students who are interested. Classes offered are Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band A, Jazz Band B, Auxiliary, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Women’s Chorus,  Orchestra, Piano Lab, Electronic Music, and Guitar.

Lincoln's music staff consists of highly trained individuals. Many of the music educators are also regular performers in local symphonies, wind bands, chorales, and jazz ensembles. Several staff members have been selected to be guest artists, clinicians, and speakers at regional and State music education conferences. Staff members work to instill a lifelong love of music in their students.
